Subject: Christmas Airways

I flew with Chistmas Airways for the 14th November 1958 until the 7th March 1959. I returned compassionately for the birth of my first son courtesy of SAAFA
the Three Dakotas were fitted with long range tanks as we flew up to 8 hrs to islands such as Western Samoa, Canton Island,Malden Island(no refuelling there) etc. All the trips were toal sea passages but we had no fear as we knew if the worst was to occur we could paddle her to our destination. Slow but a Queen amongst aircraft
