Subject: Venom crash on M Q Tengah 1957

Seeking some detail for a mate who thinks a relative may have been involved.
Was there an earlier similar accident involving a Beaufighter at Changi, or is my friend confused.?

20th April 1957 A DH 112 Venom crashed into the sea in the Straits of Johore on April 20th 1957, thiswas a RNZAF Venom of 14 Squadron, the pilot ejected safely

On the 8th July 1957 a venom aircraft of the RNAF No. 14 squadron flamed out on take off and crashed into the married quarters alongside to main runway. The pilot Flt Lt John Lincoln was killed. Three others were also killed, Mrs O.J.Hughes and her young son together with Mrs Mary Walker. An amah and her daughter were very badly burnt.

I WAS 9YRS OLD AND WAS AT SCHOOL IN TENGAH ON THAT MORNING I WITNESSED THE WHOLE ACCIDENT, MY DAD WAS IN NO.14 SQUADRON AND WAS ON DUTY THAT NIGHT AFTER THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. I CAN STILL VIVIDLY SEE THE CRASH HAPPENING. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE EXPLOSION I HAD A ASTHMA ATTACK AND WAS TAKEN TO TENGAH HOSPITAL... DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER THIS...... I BELIEVE ALSO THAT DAY, A FIRE ENGINE FROM OFF THE CAMPSITE WAS ON ITS WAY TO ASSIST AT THE SCENE OF THE EXPLOSION WHEN IT CRASHED ON A BEND NEAR A VILLAGE... DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS PLEASE? CAN ANYONE HELP WITH SOME MORE INFO....THANKYOU PENNY
