People didn't exist millions of years ago. We came about because of extinctions & global changes of the past. But I don't know about you, I don't want humans to be on the endangered or extinct species list.
As average global temps go up just a couple of degrees, weather & climate changes occur. More severe weather as more energy is in the atmosphere & oceans. More extreme temp. swings. some areas get hotter, some get colder.
Too long & complicated to explain here, (but you can google for the info) but the slowing of the gulf stream is caused directly by global warming. As ice melts faster at the poles, the stream slows. Causing the heat waves of western Europe last summer, & eventually severe freezing of the UK.
Polar warming as also CAUSED (not theory) the jetstream to blow further southward causing the severe winter cold temps we've experienced 2 years in a row in the Northern U.S. Of course this also blows warmer air the upward to northern Canada as the jetstream blows back up north after hitting the U.S.. Northern Canada is having much warmer temps than normal... also icreasing ice melt & slowing the gulf stream down even more.
Leave the science to the scientists. Don't deny or condemn it just because you can't understand it, or because people who love their SUVs & heat their homes to 80f in winter are in denial. If all the scientists NOT working for the U.S. govt, oil companies, or auto companies say there's global warming & can prove it, rest assured there is global warming. Believe me & the scientic community, there's plenty of undeniable proof... & it's been around for decades.
There are plenty of things I don't understand, but that doesn't mean they don't exist just because I wasn't educated in those areas, & don't research them.

Eskimos in the north complaining that their habitat being ruined are not liberals. I'm sure most of the thousands scientists stationed at the north & south poles & mountain tops for decades are not liberals either. I know the polar bears of the north dying off because of climatic changes are not liberal. Now I think you're just putting your head in the sand in denial.
It not open for arguement, the fact are already clear. We already know & had tons of proof for decades, & every reputable scientist knows it. It's NOT a theory. The only theories are as to how bad it's gonna get & how late is too late to do something about it. So far, it's been getting pretty bad,
