I wouldn't try to corrupt the word 'liberty' by applying it to people who want to take away as many rights as they repeatedly accuse others of, people who stand for class and racial conflict (look at the rearend Jesse Jackson, if blacks and whites all got along he'd have no job and no power.. well not that he has much of that anymore anyhow), people who want to steal the money I earn so some lazy slob can sit home on their butt making babies left and right with numerous partners and not have to work a day in their life, people who want illegal aliens to have an easy way to illegally vote in US elections just to keep themselves in power, who repeatedly deny the will of the people to try to change things through the court system because they know damn well that the majority of us would never tolerate their crap. Not to mention turning their heads at rediculous actions on the part of their leaders regardless of right or wrong just simply to maintain their power base, while if someone of the opposing party did those things they would scream bloody murder - hypocrites all.
Liberty means the ability to decide for myself just what is right for me. That means if I smoke (tobacco, not pot), what kind of car I drive, how and where I spend the money I earn, what kind of clothes I wear, and who I may choose to sleep with or what I choose to do in that bedroom (or whatever other private place I happen to pick). It doesn't mean I should let some whiny ass do-gooder who's never lived a day in his life in the real world choose what is right for me because they think it's best for everyone. But liberalism appeals to the lazy, because it's the easy way out - it doesn't require you to stop and think and make a decision, regardless of how it makes you or others feel.
Without liberty I wouldn't have the ability to post on this board, after coming home from the bar, in full drag, enjoying myself for a night out as *I* see fit.
Instead I might have to work or who knows what because the liberal way is to let someone else decide for me what to do with my life.
Getting the point yet?
