Our war on terror will not have any impact on our freedoms as long as you don't mind being spied upon. How truly remarkable that the greatest democracy in the history of the world saw the beginning of it's end on November 2, 2004. And for the record, on September 11, 2001 when the towers were struck we were actually witnessing the beginning of George Orwell's 1984

Before Bush:

Spyware was only installed by shadey or porn sites & companies, & AOL... Usually only 1 piece of spyware.

After Homeland security:

Just about every company & site, including news & government agencies attempt to dump dozens to hundreds of spyware on your computer. No matter what you run to stop it, no matter what you do, some of it gets through, & won't be removed unless you wipe out your entire HD! AMF, yours & my sites are the few I can find anywhere that don't try to put some kind of crap on your computer.

They outlawed you & me from putting spyware on someone's computer, but made it legal for the government, riaa, or any software, computer, internet, & isp company to do it. So they can keep tabs on you.

People are buying property, applying for jobs, & moving to Canada in record numbers from the USA. One Canadian official was quoted as calling them "Bush refugees" after the sudden increase right after Bush got re-elected.

Retired reservists in their 60s are being "drafted" back into military service, because of a little known, fine print, "re-activation" clause in their contract.

People who volenteered to serve 1 weekend a month, & a couple of weeks a year, on US soil, are being forced to serve full time, in a war in another country, for over a year with no leave to go home! If wounded you don't get an honorable discharge anymore, they ship you right back to war if you recover!

The government can listen in to any cell-phone call they want to, without a court order or permissions, & use whatever they hear as evidence.

I can be listed as a security or terror risk with airlines, travel agencies, security companies, the police, military, & the government... just for typing this. And there's nothing I can do to fight it!

I do a lot of electronic security work in my city... mostly cameras, phone & anti-theft devices. You'll be surprised how much spytech I discover that the company knew nothing about while installing the equipment.

I ship & recieve packages from all over the world. I suspected the packages were being tampered with. One time, for a security job, I ordered a small digital security cam. It's the kind that looks like a lighter. If it sees movement, it'll stap a picture. On standby, without snapping, the batteries last weeks. I've done business where I bought the cam before, so I asked them to do me a favor... set the cam on standby when they pack the box.

No matter how much the box is banged around, it won't take a pic in a dark box because it won't see anything. When I got the cam, the memory was full. The pix on it weren't full of shipping clerks, airline staff or UPS uniforms, it was full of people in suits & law enforcement uniforms examining my stuff! Homeland security?

These guys were so dumb they didn't know the camera was on & recording! But we're supposed to trust them to protect the country? No wonder the WMD intelligence reports were wrong.

Since then, every time I'll be sending a package to friends or relatives where I know they'll be sending a package back soon, I toss the cam in the box too. You know every package it was in I got pix of officials opening up the box!

I wonder what they thought when I got my new panties & bloomers from the UK this summer! The was no camera in that one.

Last year, while listening to an encrypted local law enforcement channel, I was suprised to hear them talking about a phone tap on 1 of my clients office phone, & discussing the conversations they heard. My clients weren't breaking any laws. They just happened to own a big latin club were most of the latinos hate Bush! Boy was I pissed as I was in charge of their phone system & lines.

Sometimes when I'm bored, I'll turn on my radios. But my radios will cover everything from 20khz (.02mhz) to 12ghz (12,000mhz). I've got all sorts of antennas on my roof. It doesn't matter if it's encypted, I've always got a computer or box around to open it up if I'm curious enough.

From someone who is pretty good on RF & hi-tech security, believe me, Big Brother IS watching you. And it's gotten exponetially worse since 9/11.

In security, it's my job to be paraniod, but that's how I catch 'em.
