Subject: Client looking for Nail Tech in Vegas

I got a request for a nail tech in the Vegas area in my email.... Here is my reply:

To find a top notch tech in your area, try calling some professional associations for referals. Look in the yellow pages under professional associations (or just associations), I know that there is a specialized nail association based in Vegas, plus there should be a local affiliate of the Natl Cosm Assoc (their state or local affiliate) that may be able to point you in the right direction.

Genrerally (but not always!)price and availability are indicators of a techs skills. If it's too easy to get an appt with her, or if her prices are avgerage or lower, then she may not be what you are looking for (the best techs are booked solid months in advance and charge a premium price for their services)

Try looking around for someones nails you like anywhere and everywhere you go. When you spot some nails you like don't be afraid to ask "who does your nails!".

Just start walking into salons asking for service menus and hang around long enough to get a feel for the techs skills and sanitation practices, and also to get a chance to talk with and examine the nails of some current clients. When you think you may have found a salon that appeals to you, then first book an appt for a hand treatment (such as paraffin wax, etc)and a polish change. Ask about their continuing education, special certifications and professional associations, and also what product lines they work with.

Good luck,

Barb
