Just off the top of my head:

- I think four categories with the fouth being chef's choice is a super idea. Regular presentation rules for the first three, but anything goes with chef's choice.

- I absolutely think it should be open to all types of cookers. It would be great to get some new people out for the first time, so we should remove as many barriers to entry as possible.

- Why not have a little pot? I don't think anyone would object to, say, 25 bucks for a little friendly competition. Once again, this is just off the top of my head and probably needs a little tweaking, but what about something like the following:

25.00 entry fee at least a week in advance

5 bucks comes off that to go towards trophies or plaques or ribbons or whatever there's enough money for.

The remaining 20.00 goes into the pot to be divided something like:

11% for first place in each category

6.5% for second place in each category

4.5% for third place in each category

4% bonus for second place overall (reserve grand)

8% bonus for first place overall (grand)

- The ABA has a great judging/scoring system that doesn't require anyone to be certified judges. It's all based on the judge's personal objectivity and doesn't compress all the scores into 8s and 9s. I have all the details and I think we should consider something similar.

That's it for now. Just a couple of things that jumped to mind right away.

I think this sounds like a hoot!
