Mop is the resident jerky king (take that any way you like...lol), and he has settled pretty much on the outside round as best cut for jerky, all factors such as taste, texture and price considered. I contacted him with an email this morning letting him know that a store called Food Basics has this outside round on sale from today until April 20 for 2.77/lb, the same as you mentioned for eye of round. According to the flyer, there are locations throughout SW Ontario including Scarborough, Willowdale etc. I have used eye of round for jerky and results were okay, not quite up to standard of the outside round, but if you have it and want to use it, give it a try.
