Welcome to the forum, Phil. Good to see new "faces" around here.
Both the Tejas and the egg are good units and you will find "eggers" and folks cooking on offsets on this site and lots of support for both units.
I would suggest you have a look at Sobie's and Ont Gas BBQ showrooms for a start. Talking to those retailers will be a big help. (links are on the CBSA home page).
I use an offset (Klose) and you are more than welcome to pick my brains anytime or, if you want to join me cooking give me a holler. I'm about an hour NW of Toronto.
