morning Phil glad to see you on board here. before buying a smoker you really have to ask yourself what kind of budget do you have to work with and what your overall plans for the cooker are. are you going to be transporting it around or will you be doing most of your Q at home. how many people will you be cooking for in the begining and how many people will be asking you for cooking favours later. the latter is an automatic believe me. i think Peter has a good idea in making a visit to a good outlet to see first hand what is available. if your heart is set on a ceramic cooker one thing i would not do is purchase a small Egg, but go to the largest one you can get. take your time, don't rush into it.
