I have one on the go right now! Went to A&P and they had boneless butts on for 1.69/lb. Just had a couple small (3 lbers) ones out, which was fine, cause I just did the one piece at that size, rather than slice in half as mentioned in the original Basso recipe for a 5 lber. Should still get enough penetration of cure at that size; it's about 3-3.5" thick at widest point which isn't too bad...I hope. It cures now til Wednesday, when I drain off any collected juices and rotate til next weekend when I smoke it up. Probably try it about this time next week. Will let you know what I think then.
