I just began with the WSM last spring with no experience whatsoever in smoking. No prob. Let me put my 2 cents in. If anything the only advise I have for you is to use the Minion method (see the virtual bullet). I found it's the most foolproof way to use that machine and control your temp. Don't be shy to put coals so you won't have to fill it up mid-cook. When you're done, close all vents including top and you will be able to re-use alot of unburned coals the next time around.
