Subject: Substitution of 'oils'

I`m marinating a big ole flank steak and my recipe calls for veg oil but I`m out.

I used extra virgin olive oil instead, I know the olive oils have a very distinct aroma and flavour and am wondering if it will have a negative result on the meat.
As you know, veg oil is very mild in terms of flavour and aroma.
Not that it matters cause the person I`m cooking it for wouldn`t known the difference if I marinated it in donkey goo!
LOL
