Morning John , congrats on that new smoker and i do wish i was your neighbour so i could get some of that brisket lol . as far as fuel goes its pretty much up to you and a matter at what temps you like . brickets don't burn as hot as lump but lasts a little longer . you might want to experiment the first couple of times to get use to the new TOY . maybe try a small butt until you get the feel of it . (the smoker that is) its less expensive than brisket and easier to do as you know . also don't forget to season you smoker first .it makes a difference . there is an article by Mop in the first issue of "Smoke Signals" newsletter . good luck with it and keep us posted as to how you like it . reg
