. You sound like my daughter she is 21 and going to comunity college. But thing are not going well she want to be a teacher for K-2nd grade if that possible. She works so hard and the school just dosn't understand her learning problems even when she tells them. Like to day in her CIS class the teacher stood infront of the class and held up a form my daughter had to fill out to get a reader for her finals. The teacher asked her in front of the class why she thought she needed special help and went on to tell her and the class her problem was syceatric (bad speller also) problem and she need counsling and why should she get special help when the rest of the class dosn't. To say the least she is very up set this year has been tough on her and I am so proud of her. She droped her Math class as a tutor was not available. We are a low income family and I can't afford a private teacher, I wish I could. Im not sure if she will keep going but today I was told there may be colleges in the US for dyxslia. I can't find any info on it so if you or any one elce knows of one please e mail me or if my daughter has rights at a community college for special ed. My daughter has a 395 GPA in high School she puts her hold self into her learning but you can't fight everyday and get your personal info put out there of the hold class to know with out wanting to quit. I hope you stay in school and show young people like my daughter it is not a dream for you or her to become anything you want to be. Michigan Rehab would not help my daughter with her college ed. as they said she was no smart enough to her test grads they gave her were not high enough. Da- They would not read it to her. I hope you do not have to fight all the way to the top. You will make a great teacher, you have the right knowledge of children with needs and the heart keep up the good work.
