I to am dyslexic but mine is mild in comparison to your child and I to tried many languages and then was sent ASL. Funny thing is, ASL uses the same part of the brain that processes all language. In fact I can ace any english class and my reading comprehension is excellent but I cannot do foreign language, I even lived in Italy for 5 years but can't speak the language. My suggestion is to ask the school to provide alternative classes like communication and psychology classes.
