I agree with the last response. Go to community college first. It is inexpensive in comparison to any 4 year institution and most community colleges have very good support for dyslexic students. My son is severely dyslexic. He had a horrible first semester at WVU with virtually no support from the disability office or from the professors. Subsequently, he attends our local community college with much success and any accommodation he needs to help with his disability.

Basically, when you are dyslexic, even if you can read and write, it can be slow without the use of technology. Also, spelling is the biggest issue. Our community college provides note takers in his classes, a scribe for tests, and better yet a testing center equipped with a computer with word, dragon naturally speaking, kurzweil, a scanner and printer. All of his professors send his tests to the testing center. With all the technology, he does not need a scribe. The disability office obtains all of his books on PDF which are readable by Kurzweil. Also, another good reason to attend community college is the access to the professors. Best of luck!
