Hi
I was gobsmacked to read your entry. Cannot believe that people still hold these petty views. You need to be strong, you are in the right they are in the wrong. If you are in the UK then quote the DDA at them, not sure what happens in the states. As a teacher I am very aware that we have had multitudes of training re inclusion of all!!! I agree with you it is really not hard for tutors to photocopy information that is going on the overheads - personally if i have students with difficulties then I give them handouts - The best way I have found is to photocopy many copies and inform students that I will put the photocopies on a table and that students can help themselves if they wish when they come in - that way I am not highlighting any specific student and EVERYONE gets the advantage. As you mentioned anything that helps a dyslexic person tends to help many others within the class as well it is often useful to offer simple solutions to all ( even if only to allieve the singling out) - Anyway enough of my ramblings - good luck and keep insisting - remember they are in the wrong - you have a right to be able to see these things~!!!
