Dear Kerry, It sounds like you understand the "power of
positive reinforcement" all to oftern parents choose negitive reinforcement or punishment to work with there
dyslexic children. Dyslexia itself is accompanied by low self esteem and lack of comfidience. So the fact that you praise
the child for reading well and treat them as you would
like to be treated is so important. Best wishes in helping your youngster.I even read a parigraph aloud to my adult dyslexic students and then they read the next paragraph to me. Oddly I believe that them hearing me as auther and professor looking to unlock the coded information helps make me human to my students. They sometime read to me to help me gain understanding. Oddly having the students teach is a very powerful tool. Thanks Joanne
