Hi Mandy,
When I was your age, I was lucky enough to go to a school that was for dyslexic students. Depends on what tests you are doing. With spelling, get sandpaper or something that has a rough surface, write your words, on that, and say the letters as your spelling them, then say the word that you spelled do it three times each. Then go to paper, fold your paper into 3 sections, spell your words twice, then on the 3rd section cover up the other words so you can't see them.
For your Mom, I am not sure what to do tell you. It is not you, It is more for the school, and teachers, she doesn't think that the teachers are giving you the support that you need, or the help that you need. Being a dyslexic I know that we learn differantly than other students.
Just hang in there, and work hard.
Don't give up, don't ever give up.
bye,
Matt
