if your dyslexia is related to an attentional diffciulty then clearly a drug that can help you to focus such as ritalin can be of help. You first need to look into the pros and cons of exploring this route with the help of a qualified and experienced doctor. Educate yourself as well as listening to the doctors advice as this is a controvercial area. Long term side effects of taking ritalin and other similar medications is unknown. On the other hand the long term effects of having untreated dyslexia is also mixed. I have known several young people with attention problems to take ritalin and find they were able to focus long enough to learn some of the skills necessary for reading. Good luck.
