Hi I am studying medicine as a second degree in Coventry in the UK. I have similar problems and am always getting moaned at for loosing things, I usually take solace in the fact that If I have writen something down in my diary my Brain will have kept even if I loose my diary but If I don't my brain will not have. I was taught with everone else to write timetables for studying so I am not too disorganised doing this and tend to do paragraph plans and mind maps for essays.

However I do have difficulties with actual objects and always have, the main strategy i employ is to try to have a place for everything and to try to keep reminding my self where I have to put them which is hard work. I seam to have collected about 6 rulers and other bits of sationary through not being able to find them. This can be very demoralising the best advice I can give is to realise that everyone else dose it the are just not told that it is because of their dyslexia form the age of 5 I know quite a few people who do not suffer form writen/reading dysleixa than me but have poor organisational skills like myself I find it usefull to read form pappers and then the not the refference on my computer as soon as I get them so that I can get them again if I loose them and to photocope relavent bits out of books form the library so that I can't loose the whole book. Hope this makes you feel less alone even if it dose'nt help much!
