Yes there is a definate help for using Omega 3 and Omega 6 oils for a range of learning difficulties Dyslexia, dyspraxia ADHD and ASD

Dr Alex Richardson at Oxford University, UK has carried extensive research into the use of these oils as part of Nutritional research and Dr Madelaine Portwood has carried out double blind trials in Durham, UK with children in primary schools. The results were very positive.
A lot of their results are posted on the www.equazen.com website. Equazen are suppliers of Eye-Q which is a combination of Omega 3 & 6 (Evening Primrose oil and fish oils)
My own son(10) has been taking this oil in liquid form for over 18 months and it has helped his concentration, attention, handwriting and maths. His reading is very good and his main area of problem is dyspraxia though he has other problems associated with Dysplexia eg organising himself, visual perception problems etc
Efalex is an alternative oil to use which is also in liquid form or capsules, but we seem to have achieved better results with the Eye-Q. Apart from the help with his learning difficulties, the oils have improved his overall health and wellbeing. He is a much calmer and more focused child now and for the forst time his hair, skin and nails have improved. Defecits in these essential fatty acids seem to show up as problems of skin etc.
Incedently, since I have introduced the same oils to my younger daughtter (7) her excema has almost disappeared.
I use a fairly high dose of the oils (2 teaspoons per day) as this seems to be my sons maintenance requirement. You usually need a high dose for the first 12 weeks plus.

Good luck
Hilary Knight
