I have dyslexia and I'm a freshman in college. I attend Huntington College in Indiana. It is very hard for me because I don't have my mother with me. My mom looked over every assignment they gave me. And not to have that is very hard. But at Huntington College they have a program called the learning center. The learning center is for students with a disability. For myself I go there and have my test read, papers looked at, and I also have a tutor. This helps me greatly. In your e-mail that you wrote you said that your daughter took the SATs and did not do very well. I was wondering if she got to have her SATs read to her. Because that's what I received when I took the SATs. If your daughter wants to go to a big school where she does not have a learning center, then you should look into computer programs. The programs I use at College are the DragonDictate. The DragonDictate is where you can read off something onto your computer and it types it up for you. It is one of the most amazing programs out there. I think it cost about $65. Another great program is Kurzweil 3000. kurzweil 3000 is the best program out there for dyslexia. But it cost a little bit more ok actually it cost a lot. It can run from anything from $1000-$3000. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me thanks a lot, Ashley.
