Sam35, >>>Do you actually believe communism was invented from whole cloth by mental midgets like Marx and Lenin? <<<
..... That depends on the definition of "Communism". I think it includes an aim to obtain a much better(?) kind of life, for workers (only), obtained by world-wide violent revolutions with that philosophy having been invented as a result of the French revolution that proved to solve the many problems with undesirable governments, with religion at that time also having been a government, the real power behind the throne, and condoning, perhaps even encouraging, the exploitation of most employees by (very?) rich capitalists.
..... Some people think of "communism" as being a communal lifestyle - that existed already at the time of the FIRST version of Christianity, the one by Jesus, maybe even before, as mentioned in Acts 2 and Acts 4, and still being practised, more or less, in various communities, such as some religious orders [see the Franciscans' full membership, for example], "utopian societies", the Kibbutzim in Israel, some of the "hippies", etc.
..... Socialism, as I understand it, is trying to make EVERYBODY happy, provide them with all of the basic necessities of life, provide for a whole happy community if possible, while Capitalism wants to make only individuals happy, make them work for all their needs - no work=no food, and uses religion-fiction as a driving force.
>>> Any idiot can invent their own rules, many have. Rules that actually work are much harder than anything the socialists ever created. <<<
..... Using a computer means using many rules that, if obeyed, actually work. Computers may be used by anybody, with any political view; try changing the rules your computer imposes on you and note the result of that rule change. Similarly, changing the existing rules of a society, its laws and customs, can prove to be disastrous in the long run; a revolution, whatever its political label, can, maybe, make things very much worse, instead of better, for most people in that community.
