 i said "try to convert", it's not the same thing. i don't think belief is a matter of choice. i didn't wake up one day and say, "i think i'll be an atheist". i became an atheist because the facts, as i perceived them, didn't point to a sentient force controlling the universe.
but you accused atheists of "causing enough trouble already". what trouble? if disputing your view of reality is trouble, then i guess i'm guilty. you won't lack for troublemakers on the xian side tho. they seem to be more prone to name calling and threats of hellfire...
you and others like you seem to be more rational, but i hope you check out the tcu link in my other post. they are a better example of the typical theist that posts to atheist boards.
as for a purpose for god? you're right i see none. in over 50 years, i've not seen one thing that INDICATES(much less proves) the existence of a sentient force involved in the inception, or participating in the future, or interested in the future, of our universe.
