RETAIL TECHNOLOGY & SERVICES LIMITED 2003-02-04 ASX-SIGNAL-G

HOMEX - Brisbane

+++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Directors of Retail Technology & Services Limited are pleased to
advise that the Group Operating Profit before depreciation
amortisation and interest (EBITDA) was a positive $915 K (31 Dec 2001
EBITDA $152 K).

Net operating profit for the period ended 31 December 2002 is
estimated at $409 K compared to the corresponding period last year
which reported a net loss of ($515 K). The net operating profit of
$409 K incorporates a $250 K charge to our accounts in respect of
legal settlements previously disclosed on our 30 June accounts as
contingent liabilities.

Our accounts are presently being reviewed by our auditors and the
above statement does not take into account any additional
provisioning that may be required as a consequence of our Half Year
Review.

This significant improvement in the businesses relates directly to
restructuring synergies, revenue growth and aggressive cost
containment.

The directors would like to thank management and staff for their
continued efforts following the restructuring and rationalisation of
the trading businesses in the early part of this 6 months.

K G Charteris
CHAIRMAN
