My thoughts Geoffo--I think they will go to war--and maybe there may be a few days of turbulent trading in the U.S. relating to that, I think though the market by and large since September 11 2001 has gotten used to war and just lives with that.
On Oz verses America--interesting U.S. ploitics isn't it?--theyve got God stuck up their toot--if you go back through presidential speeches (either side--democrat or republican) thay all sound the same-they could be written as if they came from the middle ages with constant references to God and how he is on everybody's side as they implore another crusade.
Australia I think is a little more level headed in this regrd--our pollies (while still doing it) don't seem to pull the holy roller act so much.

US and UK have been planning this for a long time. One would have to have the vision of a god to know if it is the right move in a strategic geo-political sense. And personally i do not think that the axis of evil i.e. Bush, Blair and Howard have that sort of vision.
