Subject: Birdman

Does anyone remember the Birdman falling to his death at the Speke / Liverpool Airshow back in the 50's. As far as I remember he became tangled in his parachute and landed in a field in Hunts Cross area.

ELO Tom,
Yes I remember the birdman falling at the Speke Airshow I have some family pix taken then. I think it was about 1958
he was wing walking. He went over the airfield to the trees and the news went through the crowd (which from memory wasn't that big) that he had fallen off, I think the plane came back over the crowd without him. The plane was too low for a parachute even if he had one which I think he didn't.
