The Madeline I saw (and we've already established that I was watching my own private version that no one else here saw much of!) would have responded to this situation, a subordinate suddenly turning out to be a closet peer/supervisor, with an unquenchable desire to get even and to make everyone who made such a stupid decision eat crow.

I know they were talking about cancellation, but honestly - how many key Section personnel did we see escorted into the white room who eventually walked back out of it? Walter, Nikita, Michael, Birkoff....Only Hillenger and George, who weren't Section One, didn't. The odds were on surviving. Pah. Stupid writers and their stupid plot tricks.
