I agree with all of you (agreeable, aren't I?), at least on one level. For me, what happened in the series is canon, but we all of us are making versions of this world every time we write a story. We choose to include (and exclude) things all the time, and so we create our own versions of canon life. I'm the kind of girl who will read almost anything, and have seen all kinds of interpretations of these characters, their relationships, the worlds they inhabit and the responses they have to them. Some of these versions ring true to what I think of as their "real" world, some are interesting alternatives to that place, and some of them are way, way out there...!
