Harvey Jackson tucked his clipboard under one arm and stepped back to admire the flashy sports car in front of him. It was a 2006 Mosler. And like most fancy cars commissioned by Section it had been brought in and specially fitted for equipment for an upcoming mission. This one would be driven by Richards. The month before Harvey had worked on a silver Porsche for Michael.

Sometimes Harvey envied the Level 5 ops and their access to these expensive toys. That is until he remembered that it wasn’t all fun and games where the cold ops were concerned. In fact there was very little that you could even remotely consider as being fun in a cold ops life.

Just last week Harvey and Jamison, his assistant, had to strip down MV034 following a failed mission in which all the members of the team had been captured, then tied up in the back of the van, tortured and killed. Housekeeping had removed the bodies but Harvey and Jamison had been responsible for stripping the interior and cleaning it. Section had recovered the van and the operatives inside from some abandoned air strip in the desert. The stench in the van had left him sick to his stomach for days. Normally he left the dirty jobs to Jamison to handle but Madeline had wanted to make certain that the terrorist group had left no “surprises” in the van, and so Harvey had had to do a complete sweep of the vehicle for any bugs. He didn’t know why Section hadn't just blasted the van, but then again he’d never been good in figuring out how Madeline's mind worked anyway.

A screech of tires and the honk of a horn announced the arrival of another mission van – MV014. Harvey made his way over to where the driver was getting out and easily caught the pair of keys that was tossed his way.

“All yours,” the driver called. “Gotta warn you though. One of the newbies threw up back there.”

“Great,” Harvey muttered, and he stopped short of reaching the van and pulled out his radio instead. At least this job could be left for Jamison to take care.
