Well, everything that everyone has said is wise. But this in particular:

It's your story, your universe that you have created and slaved over and spend hours and hours thinking about - it should be YOUR ending as well.

If you don't write the ending that you want, won't you think about that every time you look at the story?

I say this in addition to my feelings about the entitlement issue in fandom, which are many. ;-) Stories have their own internal logic. If you force an ending that doesn't feel right to you, then there's a reason for that.
