Okay, let me try again. Instead of discussing (for the sake of argument) all of, say, stories I have written, it might be more interesting to discuss, um (thinking of something...)what makes a good charecterization of Birkoff. Then use examples from author a, author b, and author c to show good characterization and examples from author d, e, and f to show poor characterization.

Am I understanding you correctly?
