I still remember meeting Jaron at the con in Toronto in 1999, I just looked at the pictures I took, one was of her wearing a dark red blouse next to Shanola and Shrift, also, coincidentally dressed in red and black, that image is saved as "The Angsties". Jaron wrote damn good angst, but always ended with the sweetest comfort you could imagine. That's because it was her nature to care. She gave me an "Honorary Texan" badge that weekend, which I still have tucked away. We corresponded for a while and often commented on each other's stories, but it was meeting this lovely lady that is the memory which will endure. She will be missed.
