For years she was so sweet to include me in the gatherings invitations in the Metroplex and I was never able to get to one. I came to be known as "elusive", though that was never my intent -- RL seemed to keep me tied down to my office virtually 24/7 back then. Now I've moved back to the Bootheel and get to Dallas rarely. But before I left, in the fall of 2005, Jaron and I spoke @ length, including about her health. She was cautiously hopeful. I still have her in my cell phone. I hate this hate this hate this. I know she fought long and hard. She was smart and funny and articulate and thoughtful and sweet-hearted and truly one of our beloved core group. We can know she's trading bons mots w/ zzoo even as we miss her here.
