Well, first of all, I meant unwitting in terms of the longer-term consequences. There *is* a certain irony in the mole who brought them down having preserved their reign longer than it would have lasted without her!

But in response to your point above -- really, her motivation in Mandatory Refusal was to save Michael. If Operations hadn't put out the equivalent of a hit on him, I certainly don't think Nikita would have gone out to rescue Madeline on her own.

As for your Ackerman question -- I haven't seen that ep in a while. (I haven't watched the DVDs in order, and that's one I skipped to get to others first.) Let me dig it out and get back to you.
