But in response to your point above -- really, her motivation in Mandatory Refusal was to save Michael. If Operations hadn't put out the equivalent of a hit on him, I certainly don't think Nikita would have gone out to rescue Madeline on her own.

Hmm - probably not, unless of course Operations had dangled some carrot in front of her. Save Madeline and I won't kill Michael......you know, the basic threat/promise under which she does almost everything over the course of the next two canon years! LOL!
