Subject: Yep - more cross-overs, those two. I like the library one best too, I think (r)

The pair of stories are crossovers with Highlander. All unawaress, you have just met the fanfic version of Duncan MacLeod and his long-time lover Tessa Noel.

So, yes, Duncan and Tessa do have things to hide (that immortality and all) too. Tessa is French, and they did live in Paris part of each year, and Tessa was an artist. If you know them, you know they are the 'good guys.' Thus, no reader worry about motives. Or, at least, no reader who knows Duncan and Tessa will worry about motives.

But yes - a flaw in these stories is that Michael isn't at all concerned with anything beyond relationship issues, and is totally willing to accept them as just "Nikita's new friends." On the other hand, I'm a total sucker for Duncan/Tessa stories - so, it doesn't bother me too much. Though - I'm not, long run, all that enthusiastic about cross-overs - I think it's very hard to get the moods of different series to blend seamlessly.

I think the library story is one of my favorites of this set - mostly because it has got more of the darker section feel there. I don't know if I ever saw Section as this light hearted - though I do know that through S2, I was still thinking in terms of 'let's all finally band together to bring down the big bad" when it came to thinking about some of my very first story plot-lines. Tension yes, but still thinking that some kind of 'band of brothers' bond might emerge.

S3 pretty much killed that (though why the end of S2 didn't - I couldn't tell you....).
