that people would sometimes like to take all thier stuff 'down' (as you could not with the wayback machine, but that's a different kettle of fish.)
However, if Ranma has it - it will be easier for an author to control at least the fandom awareness that she no longer want's it 'out there.' Which should also help with the emailing problem - there will be easier 'one stop shoping' as were to learn the status of old fic. So, it may also be eaiser to get the fandom (the upside of a tiny fandom) to agree that if it's not up on the web currently, Ranma's or elsewhere - it's gone for good.
