Oh, this is at the top of my list. And probably numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5 too. LOL.

A context of desperation, anger, or some other strong and potentially negative emotion also adds a nice edge to things. The emotional catharsis is probably more important to me than the sexual climax.

I don't like a lot of lengthy descriptions of anatomy. Instead, I prefer well-placed sensual details scattered here and there -- maybe the way the light reflects on someone's skin, a fleeting scent of perspiration, the sound of sighing or sheets rustling, etc. Whatever takes you there to the scene but still leaves other details to the imagination.

What I don't like? Romance novel sweetness, with virgins and angels and transcendent moments of soulmates uniting and whatnot. Or anything fluffy. I also don't care for detailed descriptions of men's girth. Or too many over-the-top metaphors/euphemisms.
