i don't have a link or anything but there's the story you probably all heard or read this year abt the autistic kid in HS who became the BBall manager...every practice every game every meeting for four years wearing his suit and filling up the water bottles and gathering up the sweaty towels and the equipment and being there and fitting in in some way and the very last game of his career the coach was so moved by the longevity and the imminent end that he had the kid declared eligible for the last game and he wore a uniform and sat with the players and was never going to play but the coach, with a few minutes left in the game put the kid in the game and he went nuts hitting 7 three point shots in 4 minutes

it's not abt the game really but all the parents of the autistic and otherwise challenged kids that have a whole alternate universe to traverse while some parents are worrying abt their kid winning an award or making varsity team or getting the right date or acceptance into college, other parents are worried that their kid will ever have a friend or won't get beat up every day or will ever get kissed in their life or will ever experience the mental wilderness of self-sufficient independence

it's my lesson too.

thanks for the link.
