Good message. Here is how _I_ think it should read:

"I'd like to take this opportunity to propose to those on the opposite end of the political spectrum that they consider opening their minds to the possibility that those who disagree with them have come to their views honestly, that they see the world differently, that they have made alternative judgments based on sincere — if flawed, by the lights of that opposite end — interpretations of reality."

because it is not my perception that "...for the most part, those on the Right have refrained from such language". I'd offer up political talk radio as an example. It's a two way street.
