>At last a Cinema in Speke, pity is as taken over 60
>Years to arrive.
I moved to Speke in Dec. 1939 from Dingle when I was 3 months old so I remember it without pubs and with few shops - Nursalls hut and Scott's etc. in the Old Smithy which became a library later. Whem The crescent was being built all the kids were convinced it was going to include a cinema - wishful thinking to avoid the bus journeys to Garston or Woolton. Anyway seems it is now going to happen and on a grand scale. Speke was a paradise for kids in the 1940's - lots of fields, woods, lanes, ponds and Speke Hall.
