Subject: Speke Website

The Speke Website has now been on line for just over 8 years.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported the site during that time. I have been chastised and congratulated, both at the same time, which made the site fun and a challenged at the same time. Speke was a wonderful place to grow up in and the late 40's and early 50's it was like being part of a huge family. Everyone knew everyone and in many cases, your mates at school were your mates for life.
Most of the early families coming to Speke were from Liverpool areas that were under redevelopement and I always think that my family were one of the lucky families being placed in Speke in a brand new house. Many families went to Kirkby, Skelmersdale and Halewood, so I considered my family to be very fortunate to be able to live in Speke.

Just by accident, one of my sons asked me if I would like to learn how to use a computer, being that I didn't know how to turn one on.....I said yes and the rest is history...and I am so glad for the time he spent with me and those patient hours he afforded me. I always felt that I owed Speke something and I guess this website is my way of saying ....thanks Speke.

I trust we will have many more years here on the Net and remember....if you would like to see something added to the website then you only have to ask.....thanks guys.
