Subject: Stupid computer

Hey,
So I got my hard drive...put it in my computer.
Threw Windows XP in the cd slot. And then during setup it says, "Setup cannot read your CD, or you have an invalid CD, please enter Windows XP and hit enter."
And that will be a continuous loop till the day I die...and I can't load XP on my new harddrive...so it's worthless...now what?
TK

Did you use the disk that came with your hard drive to install it? Sometimes thats what you need to do for windows to reconise a new hard drive. I would sugest Leaving your old hard drive in, and then installing the hard drive. After that you should then install windows on your new hard drive(put the disk in while running windows). Then after that, take out your old hard drive and switch your new one to the master, or primary drive. you could even leave your old hard drive in and just switch the master and slave destinations on the drives and use the old one for storage.

The harddrive I purchased didn't come with a disk.
