  Hey,
  Vote no on the high school referendum. I did. Personally, my parents coudln't afford to have a tax increase because of the amount of land we own in St. Francis. And who cares about kids without bussing. For $40 they could put in a bike rack at school, and we'd save the world a lot of money. And America complains about its young kids getting fat, well, if they have to walk 2 miles to school everyday, maybe we can cut down on that problem.
  On a side note...a friend of mine here at school is getting engaged in 3 days. That's cool.

  yeah...so there is a windows version of itunes now. i really really really really like it. completely free of cost. anyone else on the network that has it installed shows up automatially on my list (provided they have their songs shared) and i can play their songs on my computer. i'm not downloading the songs, only listening to them. it rules. i'm right now listening to songs off of the switchfoot cd "the beautiful letdown" off of Morgan Gettle's computer. yeah, this rules.

  It was pretty fun... yep.. I probably shot upwards of 400 people. I determined the M4 Carbine to be most efficient, because it pierces the body armor of the elite guys. I think the high point occurred when I hit this guy in the face with a molatov cocktail and he screamed and covered his face as his body writhed in agony until it was reduced to cinders.   So this theory popped into my head the other day. Tell me what you think.
  
  Two groups exist, conservatives and liberals.
  I believe that the less educated are conservatives and the more educated are liberals - as a general rule of thumb. Also it seems that more conservatives are Christians than liberals. This would follow with a conclusion that Christians may tend to be less educated and liberals more educated. Would it then be that Christians have faith in God because they are less educated? Or that non-Christians don't because "they know more about the world?"
  
  Let me know so I can have some feedback on this developing theory of mine. I am not meaning to insult anyone with this, so don't be insulted or demeaned in any way.

  Check this out. (I came up with this on my own because I'm bored)
  
  Every 10 years a couple has the potential to bear 13 kids. Assuming the chic is impregnated the night after she gives birth to her child, and all her children are born on a strict 9 month schedule. Now...in those 10 years, you'd have 3 months to spare where you wouldn't be pregnant at all. Therefore, every thirty years, assuming you were always pregnant would allow you to squeeze out another kid.
  Let's pretend for a minute that we are Adam and Eve who live to be some 930 years old. Do the math! They had the potential to bear 1201 kids in the course of that time. That is just bare bones too, we're not even taking into account that it is possible they could have twins or triplets.
  Now I know what you're thinking..."But how long could a women actually be of Child bearing age?" Well, I'd like to agree that that is a legitmate question, but at the same time it isn't. I mean...how long can a human live? 120 years tops? Maybe! Well...as I said...Adam was 930...so we'll assume that they had the potential to bear kids all those years. Seeing as how God commanded them to "populate" the earth.
  Long story short...it really didn't take "millions" of years to populate the earth...that's a bunch of hoohaa.
  Ok...that's my spiel for the night.

  Well I haven't written about myself in a long time and plenty has happened to me since school started and I saw you last. School's going fine, Italian is tough, I think I'm better at the Germanic influenced languages then the Romance languages. I'm totally digging my history classes. US History to 1880, and Western Civ to 1500. Sweet. Tomorrow is the most important day of my life in that the Gophers are going against the Michigan Wolverines. (We don't give a dman about the whole state of Michigan!) We are currently 6-0 going on 7-0 and hopefully to Pasadena and the Rose Bowl in January!!! The marching band is the best thing ever, and we're going to rock the house down, maybe we can blow the roof off the Metrodome and have an open air stadium. I think I should Start my own blog cause so much happens to me. I'm gonna make like a tree now, and split.

  Hey guys,
  For the first time this semester, I didn't have choir. That was very much appreciated by me, so I spent that time playing some hardcore Frisbee. I've come to the conclusion that Frisbee is fun, and that we should play it over the summer. You know, kinda like when we hackysack, or on those rare occasions, golf. Just a thought.
  I don't know, sounds like fun.
  On a side note, I called the Stop and Shop today to ask them if I could get some hours in sometime in October when I hope to come home. Colleen told me that as of now I'm not really "hired," but she would pull some strings to see if I could get some hours, so the verdict is still out on that.
  Well, enough of this talk, I need to get to work.

  Hey guys,
  So last night was up until just before the crack of dawn. I think I got to bed around 4:30AM. I had class at 8AM to make matters even worse. Uggh.
  I'm telling you, having over 100 pages of worksheets to do in an English class, and then having to type up a 7 page paper for Philosophy, and then having your daily two hours of Greek homework to do...it was rough.
  Tonight is going to be another long night. I just got out of my night class, and now I have to wait for another group meeting...and after that I'll go on my nightly walk with Emily. (those walks keep me sane) And then I need to start on my Greek. Yuck...I hate not having Greek done.
  Upside to all this...is that tomorrow is Friday. w00t.
  I'm excited for the Luther movie to come out, but I suppose I would be, seeing as how I'm Lutheran.
  I'm also excited about Mel Gibson's "Passion." I have to laugh when theaters say they won't play his movie because it is anti-semitic. Get this they said, "In the movie Passion, the Jews are actually portrayed as killing Jesus."
  HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE!?!??! OF COURSE THE JEWS KILLED JESUS!!! (ok, people are dumb)

• Look at what I wrote for Intermediate Writing. -- TK, 19:30:48 09/11/03 Thu
  George Washington just walked into the room. On his back is a backpack. He just unslung it from his shoulder and placed it on the computer desk. He unzipped the backpack using his forefinger and his thumb. He reached into his backpack with his left hand and just pulled out some cornmeal. The cornmeal is a pale yellow in color. George once again put his left hand into his backpack. His hand stays in the backpack as he eats the cornmeal with his right hand. George just choked on his first bite of the cornmeal. As he choked he retracted his left hand from the bag and there in his left hand was a medical pamphlet with directions on how to self-administer the Heimlich Maneuver. George stands up and rams his gut down on the back of the chair. Keeping in mind that this chair has wheels it didn’t stay steady on the floor and it rolled forward, preventing Mr. Washington from removing the food from his esophagus. A woman sitting in the back notices Mr. Washington in his predicament and administers the Heimlich herself. With a poof of air and a guttural sound, out came the cornmeal, and Mr. Former President Washington’s wooden dentures. George simply reached back into the backpack, this time with his right hand and pulled out a new set of dentures.

  i have noticed as of late that the forum loads wicked slow. i have come to the hypothesis that it is at least partly because of the fact that all the posts are on the same page. i think it would much help if you (steven) were to archive the posts so that 100 posts wouldn't have to load up all at once. i don't know if that is possible but i think you could maybe at least get rid of some really old posts. just a thought. thank you for your consideration assuming you read this and even think twice about it.   Rumor has it that Josh wants to head out to Maine this coming summer. If I don't find myself in China next summer, which is very possible, but is too long to explain on this forum, then I would like to join him.
  The only way that I could join him would be if we left immediately after school got out, and before we started working. That would seem to be the best...maybe spend a week or 10 days road tripping...I think it'd be a good kickoff for the summer.
  Whatever though. Just thought I'd open the doors early enough so people can plan around work and such.

  So tomorrow I have a quiz in Greek. (like I do every day) Anywho...tomorrow the quiz is on the word "the." That's right folks, I need to memorize and write down the 24 different ways you can spell the word "the" in Greek. Uggh...how annoying. :( If we weren't moving at such lightning speed I'd say Greek is the easiest language ever. Seriously...compared to English; Greek hardly has any exceptions to their rules.
  Keep in mind I'm rather naive and have only been taking Greek for two weeks...but whatever.
  Gotta get back to work.

  hey, to those that may care, i have some information that might interest you reguarding magic and the new large expansion mirrodin. note: at this point if you are not into magic or your name is josh, you may stop reading.
  
  there hasn't been a new card type (articfact, enchantment, creature, etc) since legends, which was about nine years ago i think. however, mirrodin will be adding a new card type. this i have known for awhile, but now i have come to the knowledge of what this new card type will be. and it is awesome. if you are interested in obtaining this information, let me know. i don't want to post it here and bore all of those that don't care.
  
  p.s. tomorrow (sunday) i want to have people over at my house to play some carcassone before i go to work at 4:00pm. i bought the newest expansion set to it called "traders and builders". i played it yesterday, and the new features are quite cool. interested? let me know.

  i've decided something over the years of working at both kmart and now tom thumb. obviously there are the "bad" customers and "good" customers. such "bad" ones include:
  
  customer-i'd like a pack of marblo ultra light box
  me-we are sold ofut of those
  *customer gives dirty look like it is my fault for some reason*
  customer-i'm looking forward to when bill's superette opens across the street. and i'm not the only one. you guys never have cigarettes in stock that i want.
  
  at this point i appoligize again, she leaves. a "bad" customer.
  
  this isn't the main topic of my post however. that example is the usual thought of bad customer. but i have another one. when i am running low on $10 or $5 dollar bills, i get very frustrated when a customer gives me a $20 to pay for a pack of gum. this i would qualify as a bad customer. it bothers me when i have to give those bills out cause i hate running out of them. if i have plenty then it doesn't matter, but when i only have a few, it bothers me. a good customer is then one who pays for a $19 something order and gives me four $5's or two $10's. or a combination of both. i've thought this for a long time. kind of stupid. but i do like people better when they give me 5's and 10's. the worst case is when i see the money in their hand's that consists of 5's and 10's and yet they still hand me a 20. ahhh!!!!

  Hello, here i am once again, posting once more. I have a question. More importantly i need some advice. Not sure if ya'll like giving advice or want to, but i figured what the heck...why not ask. Right now i am having troubles with a couple of my friends. They were in a year and a half relationship and are broken up now...but they change off liking each other...he likes her while she hates him, then she likes him and he hates her. They are both my friends but they draw me into their battles and use me against each other. They claim that God must not love them and that if God really did love them they would make it better for them. One seems to threaten her life a lot, and as much as i know she is not serious, i am afraid for the day when she becomes all too serious and ends up doing something stupid.
  
  They both seem to assume that God is the problem...she says she is an active (i hate using the word for this very reason) "Christian" but hates the world, her family, and God basically. He won't claim a religion and frankly doesn't want one. He lost all faith because his relationships won't work out for him. What do i say to them. I mean i would be wrong to just let them blame God, but at the same time i am sick of being used by them just to get each other mad. Its like they don't listen to me, they just kind of push me around as leverage fighting for their sides. I don't know what to do!

  alright everyone. it's time for the magic card sealed draft. steven's house, 6:00pm, this friday night. here are the rules and what you need to bring:
  
  -1 UNOPENED booster pack from each expasion of the onslaught block (3 boosters total, onslaught, legions, scourge)
  -1 additional booster of your choice for prizes, again unopened
  -any extra land you have, we will need quite a bit
  -some type of food or drink to share

  just as mike started the post about current CD interests, i would like to do the same with movies. so the deal is the same. five of your current favorite movies.
  
  1. unbreakable (saw it in the theatre long time ago when it first came out. this was back when i didn't really appreciate movies much. didn't think much of it. then saw it again a few days ago. i am what you might call a "movie buff" now, nothing compared to marty, but i really get into them now. long story short, unbreakable is fastly becoming one of my favorite movies. saw it at mike's house, then bought it the next day)
  2. beauty and the beast (i'm on a disney kick right now)
  3. two towers/fellowship of the ring
  4. mortal kombat 1 and 2 (cheesy and fake in some parts, but still really good i think)
  5. american history x (there are a bunch of movies i could have put here, but i picked the one that seemed to affect me the most. i really like this movie's message about racism. hate is baggage)

  Joe, my fault. You are absolutely right, God is everywhere after all. And he certainly does bless us, regardless as to whether or not we go to church. I mean, the unbeliever living next door gets just as much rain as you do.
  It just seemed a little odd to me. I mean, you wouldn't have been late had you left another 2 hours later.
  I'm not trying to say you don't have a point Joe. I'm not saying that at all. Your point does beg the question though...do we not receive any benefits from church? I mean, if God is with us all the time, and is everywhere, and doesn't decide to ignore us if we go to church...then why do we bother going? Why not go golfing instead of church, and know that God will bless our game because he won't decide to "ignore" because we're golfing on a Sunday morning? Or why don't we go fishing?
  All I'm saying is...the Lord tells us that worship is important. He tells us "not to give up meeting together, just as some are in the habit of doing." He tells us to "remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy." He tells us to worship Him. This one and only God, the same guy that died on the cross for my sins, and for yours, and everyone elses, commands these things. Why then do we blantantly ignore them when it is certainly within our power to obey them?
  I guess that's where I'm coming from.
  Like I say, it's not that you don't have a point. I just find it to be a weak one.

  I, Tim Koch, have some bad news and a confession to make. On Fiday night, when I left the store, only FOUR Mt. Dew 12 packs were in the cooler door. (ALthough there were six in the cooler as "backstock") To my horror, this wasn't enough for the all-powerful Mike Hurley and his reign of benevolence between the hours of 10:30pm and 6:30 AM. I beg that you forgive my shortcomings, though I don't deserve such grace from you. (or Mike H)
  As if my tear of sorrow and shame weren't punishment enough for my wrongdoings...I must confess that there is more. *note, at this point of the letter I have picture of me as a stick man crying...with a caption that reads "this is me with tears of sorrow...look at how sad I am"*
  On Saturday night (7/26) I tried to make up for my blunder by staying late so that Sir Mike Hurley could find the appropriate tools to break into the Taco Bell Thermostat. Apparently this was not enough to please lord Hurley, for once Matt Rehani arrived, the complaints flowed forth like money from Kathy A's pocket to purchase lottery tickets.
  Among my many offense was that of "not having stocked the cagarettes." To my defense I didn't see any cigarettes that needed to be stocked...seeing as how we don't have any, but perhaps if I had studied the magical arts as thoroughly as the wizard Mike Hurley, I could have conjured some up as he must be able to do.
  For the last time I beg that you forgive me for lack of effort and my lack of wizardly studies.

  here is the deal. i want to order several singles off the internet to improve my decks. most of these are ones that i have looked for at shinders and cannot find. so i am going to order them from card kingdoms.com. they range in rarity from common, uncommon, and rare. so the real point of this post: i will order cards for anyone that wants some (provided i get the money from them). this way we can save on shipping costs if we order them all at the same time. just email me the list of cards you want at yacste@bethel.edu. i will add up the cost for you and then respond back telling you how much each card will cost and the total cost. so here is an example:

  Hello all.
  I got a letter a couple days ago that said that I finally got accepted into Concordia-Seward. That's a very big plus. Before they sent that out, I was worried I'd have to become a full time slacker by taking a semester off and working at the Welcome Store. Not to say that Mike and Grant were necessarily wrong in doing that, but thoroughly enjoy my learning experience. Maybe more than I should. Also, this is a private college that I'm going to, so it will definitely require a lot more work. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm 100% sure of going to Seward next year. I hope I didn't sound too nerdy for liking school.
  On a side note, if anyone wants to go see "The Italian Job" sometime this week-end, I'd be up for that. I know that "Hulk" came out, but the paper said it is a travesty and a half.

  Hey guys,
  They screwed up my paycheck last week, and so I requested that they fix it. Well, they tried, and Colleen made me open my check a couple days early. So yeah...I opened it up...and they screwed up my retro pay big time. They owed me $110.50 worth of retro pay, but they accidently gave me 110.5 hrs of retro pay at $8.30. Not to mention my regular pay. Long story short. My check that should have come out for some $700 came out to a gross pay of $1,529.28. :) Suckers. Colleen went nuts when she saw it, and thought it was the funniest thing ever, so she took my pay check back, and I'll get my full check soon enough. Rather humorous I must say. Thought you might find that funny too.

  Hello all.
  I'm sorry for not posting in a decade and a half, but getting to this page is now a ten minute quest for glory. Anywho, I just wanted to let you guys know that I got new glasses today from Wal-Mart. My eyes are killing me. Don't be suprised if you don't recognize me. I'll only wear them when I'm too lazy to put my contacts in and when I work nights. Speaking of which, my sleep schedule has taken a severe turn for the worse. I'm now unable to get to sleep until 5 a.m. at the absolute earliest everyday. I think it's time to go to the store and get some Tylenol P.M.
  Tim was right about Jill St. frickin' Marie. What kind of a name is that to begin with? She definitely doesn't live up to being a saint. She came in the Welcome Store wearing her tiara just to show Colleen. Work wasn't too bad for me yesterday except the safe was $45 short.
  Just thought I'd share a bit, seeing as how I haven't posted in a very long time.
