Subject: copmuter question

I'm buying a new computer and I have the option to upgrade to a free flat screen moniter. I remmeber one of you guys saying at some point in the past few years that there's a type of flat screen that isn't good becuase it wears out after a year or two. What type of flat screen is good and which one is bad? help me out please
