As promised here is my first update from Thailand.

Got into Bangkok almost a week ago now and had no problems finding somewhere to stay. There are so many backpackers it's actually quite a shame. You think you're doing something no one else does and then it feels like London overseas.
Anyway saw loads of very impressive temple in Bangkok and visited the zoo where I saw the most bizarre animals, some of which weren't even in cages!

I'm now down South in Krabi which is so much nicer. No smog, less traffic, a few less backpackers. I've only been here a day, but I'm heading off to a few beaches to relax for a while. It's all been very hectic so far which wasn't the plan!

There are so many island off the West cost ( about 200) so I'm going to spend a good week checking out a few of them. There's one called Chicken Island which looks so similar to a chicken it's unreal, and that's from the ground! Also going to visit the island where they filmed 'The Beach'. Very touristy I know but other people I've met have said it's well worth a look. Also the island where they filmed one of the James Bond films is round here so I give that a visit too.

I've met so many people out here on their own travelling. I thought it might have been a problem to begin with but sometimes it's hard to just be on your own and relax. Also there are probably more people my age than Gap Year students which is nice.

Anyway the hamsters powering this computer are about to give up the chase so I'd better go and catch my boat to the beach. Will update you all as soon as I hit civilization again.

James x
