I'd love to see an eagle, but I'm not near the river. I heard about an eagle nabbing a seagull near Long Pond -- apparently the feathers were coming down like snow.

I did have a Great Blue Heron perched on the side of my pool last fall. That was quite a sight, they are huge birds. Also seen: foxes and red-tailed hawks. A doe with twin fawns (that was a few years back). My back yard birdfeeder has hosted Red-Bellied Woodpeckers and Carolina Wrens this winter. In the late summer, we get flocks of Bluebirds hunting insects.

And lately I've had a small red colored squirrel raiding my feeder. He is not as easily spooked as his grey brothers. (I keep a cardboard New Year's Eve noisemaker handy near the back door to scare off the rodent raiders.)

I'm starting to hear more birdsong in my woods . . . Spring is coming! . . . . .saw my first robin this past weekend.
